Monday, monday...

Happy Monday! Taking a quick break before I dive back into work!

I got a lot done on the yard this weekend! I've never mowed using Cody's riding lawn mower, but he was out of town, so ridin' I went! I think the blades need to be sharpened, but other than that, I did a pretty good job! I also spent HOURS weedeating! The hill by the arena and the hill next to the road are both weed-free now! I also weedeated around each fence post. It all looks great!

I got most of the house clean, and will finish it up tonight. Cody and I bought a recliner at a garage sale and although it's ugly, it's nice to have it in the living room. I don't know how long it'll stay because it doesn't quite fit. I'm considering changing the room around so that the TV is on the wall closest to our bedroom and the Crouton (our futon) is against the windows. We'll see...

Mazda is the most whiney puppy I know! She will whine in her kennel a little bit, which is no big deal, but after you let her out in the mornings, she whines and whines and whines! It's funny.

This week is a 4-day work week...yay! I talked to my mom last night and she really sounded like she wants me to come home for the weekend, but this is one of the only weekends Cody and I have to get stuff done around Abigail Ranch. Hope she's not too disappointed. We are going down to Burlington on Thursday evening to watch Cody's little sister play softball and will stay until the fireworks on Friday night.

I have to clean my house!

It's getting kind of scary at the White House! That's the plan for Sunday...clean the house!

Cody and I haven't worked on the closet at all this week! I thought we could last night, but I got home from work late and then went to help the mayor's daughter with her horse. I was planning on working on it tonight, but we are going to eat supper with Cody's sister and her fiance. And for Friday night, I planned a hot date with Cody to go see WALL-E. I'm really excited to see that movie! So the closet remains unfinished....

Here's a vent: if you are a parent and you want your child to enjoy riding horses, PLEASE buy them a decent horse! There is nothing more frustrating than a horse that won't go forward when the child tells it to. The child gets frustrated, the horse gets pissy, and the whole thing goes downhill from there. Another $500 would probably get you a horse that lopes when you tell it to. It makes riding a lot more enjoyable.

Projects are never ending...

ANGUS Friends in St. Joe!
I spent the weekend goofing off - horse showing on Saturday and going to St. Joe on Saturday night/Sunday for a wedding reception. It was great to see all of my Angus friends! I miss them dearly. I got back home on Sunday afternoon and worked my arena just in time before prospective buyer's friend came to look at Shiloh. I'm not sure if prospective buyer will actually make an offer on Shiloh, but we'll see. Keep your fingers crossed!

By Sunday night, I hadn't accomplished much for the weekend, but Cody and I got a lot done on the closet last night. I know it's frustrating for him...nothing is square in that closet. It's kind of a cobbeled up mess, but I will be so glad when it's done! I'm really hoping we can finish it this week.

Cody is going to visit a friend in El Dorado this weekend, and I'm going to a horse show, so this weekend won't be "productive" either. We've got to get the barn finished soon, or else! haha. I don't think we're doing anything for the 4th of July, except maybe a trip to New Strawn, so that weekend is earmarked for working on the barn.

We're headed to Lawrence tonight for a concert. Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers are playing an acoustic set. We're meeting Cody's friend Dustin and his wife, Chelsea there. Can't wait!

Back to work for me...I'm finishing up a powerpoint this morning!

A little behind...

I'm a little behind on posting on here! Whoops. Geeze, you'd think I could at least post once a month! Oh well.

Cody and I have a new puppy! Her name is Mazda and she gets along really well with Mulkie Fraggle. She's an Australian Shepherd, too. They play all the time. Lately, she has been chewing on stuff though. It's annoying. Why she thinks my sports bra is a chew toy is beyond me!

I think Cody and I are going to go eat up at Legend's tonight. Then, I need to get Shiloh ready for the horse show tomorrow. We're going to Pleasant Hill, MO. It's a Golden Circle show. I haven't ridden much at all lately, so can't expect much. On Sunday, a lady is coming to look at Shiloh. She's a friend of the potential buyer, who lives in North Carolina! It always amazes me that horses are bought and sold from such far away distances!

On Saturday, I'm headed to St. Joe for a wedding reception and to hang out with my long-lost friends! I haven't seen many of them since I quit my job at Angus over a year and a half ago. Time flies! It should be a fun time!

Random fact of the day - I LOVE wearing jeans and t-shirts. I think I'm more productive when I wear jeans and a t-shirt to work. Thank goodness for casual Fridays!
